As a San Diego freelance copywriter, many of the businesses I work with are small businesses. I’m a small business too and I know how challenging the past two years have been. So, if you’re still here, standing tall or if you’re barely making it and ready to throw it all in, I salute you.
There are ways you can support a friend’s business without spending a dime. (Though of course, spending money helps too!)
Write a review.
Some businesses live and die by the reviews they receive. If you have a hairdresser you love, a boutique that you always find that special gift at, or a coach who helps you grow your business, write review. Yelp, Angie’s List, Google, ask them where a review would help them.
Tell your friends and family.
If you found a new place for dinner, tell your friends and family. If your friend bakes cupcakes, tell all of your party-giving friends.
Follow the business on social media.
That algorithm makes it hard for small businesses to show up. So, follow them to help them boost their numbers.
Engage the business on social media.
The more engagement a page receives, the more it will show up in people’s feeds. Comment on photos, share posts!
Feel free to take these images and post on your social media!
